  • 200g good-quality white chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt, toasted sesame seeds, dried strawberry pieces

How to Make It?

  1. Melt white chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over barely simmering water, stirring gently. Do not overheat.
  2. Remove from heat. Sift in matcha powder and stir until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Pour into silicone chocolate bar molds or a parchment-lined loaf tin.
  4. Add optional toppings immediately. Tap the mold gently to remove air bubbles.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until fully set.
  6. Pop out of molds and wrap in parchment paper to gift, or store in the refrigerator.

Tips

  • Use culinary-grade matcha for a stronger green colour
  • Overheating white chocolate causes it to seize. Keep the heat very gentle
  • These bars keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use dark chocolate instead of white?

Yes, though the green colour will not show as vividly. Dark chocolate and matcha are a delicious, earthy combination.

Why does my chocolate look dull?

Dull chocolate usually means it was overheated or overworked. Heat slowly and do not stir excessively.
